N ow their appearance is blacker than soot; They go unrecognized in the streets; Their skin clings to their bones, It has become as dry as wood.

Nun aber ist ihre Gestalt so dunkel vor Schwärze, daß man sie auf den Gassen nicht kennt; ihre Haut hängt an den Gebeinen, und sind so dürr wie ein Scheit.
