t hen I saw all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun. For though a man labors to discover it, yet he will not find it; moreover, though a wise man attempts to know it, he will not be able to find it.

allora ho scrutato tutta l’opera di Dio e ho visto che l’uomo è impotente a spiegare quello che si fa sotto il sole. Egli ha un bell’affaticarsi a cercarne la spiegazione, ma non riesce a trovarla; e anche se il saggio pretende di saperla, non può però trovarla.
