b ecause Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had plotted against the Jews to annihilate them, and had cast Pur (that is, the lot), to consume them and destroy them;

Porque Amán hijo de Hamedata agagueo, enemigo de todos los judíos, había ideado contra los judíos un plan para destruirlos, y había echado Pur, que quiere decir suerte, para consumirlos y acabar con ellos.
