F or in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the wooden images, the carved images, and the molded images.

Năm thứ tám đời người trị vì, khi người hãy còn trẻ tuổi, thì người khởi tìm kiếm Đức Chúa Trời của Đa-vít, tổ phụ người; năm thứ mười hai, người khởi dọn sạch Giu-đa và Giê-ru-sa-lem, trừ bỏ những nơi cao, thần A-sê-ra, tượng chạm và tượng đúc.
