T hen King David rose to his feet and said, “Hear me, my brethren and my people: I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made preparations to build it.

Entonces el rey David se puso en pie y dijo: «Oídme, hermanos míos y pueblo mío. Yo tenía el propósito de edificar una Casa en la cual reposara el Arca del pacto de Jehová, y sirviera de estrado a los pies de nuestro Dios; y había ya preparado todo para edificar.
