B ut Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. And the king sent a man ahead of him, but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, “Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent someone to take away my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door. Is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him?”

А когато царят изпрати мъж от служителите си, Елисей седеше в къщата си и старейшините седяха с него. Но преди пратеникът да стигне при него, той каза на старейшините: Виждате ли как този син на убийцата прати да ми отнемат главата? Гледайте, щом дойде пратеникът, затворете вратата и го спрете при нея; тропотът на краката на господаря му не е ли след него?
