T hen Elijah said to him, “Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to the Jordan.” But he said, “ As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So the two of them went on.

Poi Elia gli disse: «Fermati qui, ti prego, perché l'Eterno mi manda al Giordano». Egli rispose: «Come è vero che l'Eterno vive e che tu stesso vivi, io non ti lascerò». Cosí proseguirono il cammino assieme.
