T hen David said to the messenger, “Thus you shall say to Joab: ‘Do not let this thing displease you, for the sword devours one as well as another. Strengthen your attack against the city, and overthrow it.’ So encourage him.”

Davi mandou o mensageiro dizer a Joabe: “Não fique preocupado com isso, pois a espada não escolhe a quem devorar. Reforce o ataque à cidade até destruí-la”. E ainda insistiu com o mensageiro que encorajasse Joabe.
