S o Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions there and grew and multiplied exceedingly.

Israeliţii s-au aşezat în ţara Egiptului, în ţinutul Goşen; ei au dobândit proprietăţi acolo, au fost roditori şi s-au înmulţit foarte mult.
