P orque el que quiera salvar su vida (su alma), la perderá; pero el que pierda su vida por causa de Mí y del evangelio (de las buenas nuevas), la salvará.

For whoever wants to save his '> higher, spiritual, eternal] life, will lose it '> lower, natural, temporal life which is lived only on earth]; and whoever gives up his life for My sake and the Gospel’s will save it '> higher, spiritual life in the eternal kingdom of God].
