V i además que bajo el sol No es de los ligeros la carrera, Ni de los valientes la batalla; Y que tampoco de los sabios es el pan, Ni de los entendidos las riquezas, Ni de los hábiles el favor, Sino que el tiempo y la suerte les llegan a todos.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.
