V iendo Joab que se le presentaba batalla por el frente y por la retaguardia, escogió de entre los mejores hombres de Israel y los puso en orden de batalla contra los Arameos.

Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians.
