B ut the people said to Saul, “Must Jonathan die, who has brought about this great deliverance in Israel? Far from it! As the Lord lives, not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day.” So the people rescued Jonathan and he did not die.

Aber das Volk sprach zu Saul: Sollte Jonathan sterben, der ein solch großes Heil in Israel getan hat! Das sei ferne! So wahr der HERR lebt, es soll kein Haar von seinem Haupt auf die Erde fallen; denn Gott hat's heute durch ihn getan. Also erlöste das Volk Jonathan, daß er nicht sterben mußte.
