N ow this was the custom in former times in Israel concerning the redemption and the exchange of land to confirm any matter: a man removed his sandal and gave it to another; and this was the manner of attestation in Israel.

從 前 ， 在 以 色 列 中 要 定 奪 甚 麼 事 ， 或 贖 回 ， 或 交 易 ， 這 人 就 脫 鞋 給 那 人 。 以 色 列 人 都 以 此 為 證 據 。
