T herefore, they turned their backs before the men of Israel toward the direction of the wilderness, but the battle overtook them while those who came out of the cities destroyed them in the midst of them.

Portanto, virando as costas diante dos homens de Israel, fugiram para o caminho do deserto; porém a peleja os apertou; e os que saíam das cidades os destruíam no meio deles.
