t hen Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, “Please let us pass through your land,” but the king of Edom would not listen. And they also sent to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel remained at Kadesh.

Alors Israël envoya des messagers au roi d'Édom, pour lui dire: Laisse-moi passer par ton pays. Mais le roi d'Édom n'y consentit pas. Il en envoya aussi au roi de Moab, qui refusa. Et Israël resta à Kadès.
