T here was not a city which made peace with the sons of Israel except the Hivites living in Gibeon; they took them all in battle.

وَلَمْ تَعمَلْ مَدِينَةٌ مُعاهَدَةَ سَلامٍ مَعَ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ إلّا الحِوِّيُّونَ السّاكِنُونَ فِي جِبعُونَ. فَقَدْ هَزَمَ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ كُلَّ تِلْكَ المُدُنِ فِي الحَرْبِ.
