B ut if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer;

Ora se siamo afflitti, ciò è per la vostra consolazione e salvezza, se siamo consolati, ciò è per la vostra consolazione e salvezza, che operano efficacemente nel sostenere le medesime sofferenze che patiamo anche noi.
