T hey offer sacrifices on the tops of the mountains And burn incense on the hills, Under oak, poplar and terebinth, Because their shade is pleasant. Therefore your daughters play the harlot And your brides commit adultery.

Sacrificam no alto dos montes e queimam incenso nas colinas, debaixo de um carvalho, de um estoraque ou de um terebinto, onde a sombra é agradável. Por isso as suas filhas se prostituem e as suas noras adulteram.
