I n that the king saw an angelic watcher, a holy one, descending from heaven and saying, “ Chop down the tree and destroy it; yet leave the stump with its roots in the ground, but with a band of iron and bronze around it in the new grass of the field, and let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, and let him share with the beasts of the field until seven periods of time pass over him,”

E quanto ao que viu o rei, um vigia, um santo, que descia do céu, e que dizia: Cortai a árvore, e destruí-a; contudo deixai na terra o tronco com as suas raízes, numa cinta de ferro e de bronze, no meio da tenra relva do campo; e seja molhado do orvalho do céu, e seja a sua porção com os animais do campo, até que passem sobre ele sete tempos;
