A lien tyrants of the nations have cut it down and left it; on the mountains and in all the valleys its branches have fallen and its boughs have been broken in all the ravines of the land. And all the peoples of the earth have gone down from its shade and left it.

Stranieri, i piú terribili fra le nazioni, l'hanno tagliato e l'hanno abbandonato; i suoi rami sono caduti sui monti e in tutte le valli e le sue fronde giacciono spezzate presso tutti i corsi d'acqua del paese; tutti i popoli della terra sono discesi allontanandosi dalla sua ombra e l'hanno abbandonato.
