B ehold, you rely on the staff of this crushed reed, even on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who rely on him.

Verläßt du dich auf den zerbrochenen Rohrstab Ägypten, welcher, so jemand sich darauf lehnt, geht er ihm in die Hand und durchbohrt sie? Also tut Pharao, der König von Ägypten, allen, die sich auf ihn verlassen.
