J oash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “ The thorn bush which was in Lebanon sent to the cedar which was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son in marriage.’ But there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon and trampled the thorn bush.

Y Joás, rey de Israel, envió mensaje a Amasías, rey de Judá, diciendo: El cardo que estaba en el Líbano, envió a decir al cedro que estaba en el Líbano, diciendo: “Da tu hija por mujer a mi hijo.” Pero pasó una fiera que estaba en el Líbano, y pisoteó el cardo.
