T hen the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second order and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

El rey mandó al sumo sacerdote Hilcías, a los sacerdotes de segundo orden y a los guardianes de la puerta, que sacaran del templo de Jehová todos los utensilios que habían sido hechos para Baal, Asera y todo el ejército de los cielos. Los quemó fuera de Jerusalén, en el campo del Cedrón, e hizo llevar sus cenizas a Bet-el.
