S o Jehoiakim gave the silver and gold to Pharaoh, but he taxed the land in order to give the money at the command of Pharaoh. He exacted the silver and gold from the people of the land, each according to his valuation, to give it to Pharaoh Neco.

Giê-hô-gia-kim nộp cho Pha-ra-ôn những bạc và vàng ấy. Nhưng để lo cho có số tiền Pha-ra-ôn đòi, thì người phải đánh thuế dân của xứ; người định thuế vàng bạc mỗi người phải giữ đóng; đoạn người giao hết cho Pha-ra-ôn Nê-cô.
