N ow Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen from all the tribes of Israel to put His name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

Roboão, filho de Salomão, foi rei de Judá. Tinha quarenta e um anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou dezessete anos em Jerusalém, cidade que o Senhor havia escolhido dentre todas as tribos de Israel para nela pôr o seu nome. Sua mãe, uma amonita, chamava-se Naamá.
