T hen all the people came to persuade David to eat bread while it was still day; but David vowed, saying, “ May God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else before the sun goes down.”

Y como todo el pueblo viniera a dar de comer pan a David siendo aún de día, David juró, diciendo: Así me haga Dios y así me añada, si antes que se ponga el sol gustare yo pan, o cualquier otra cosa.
