N ow Israel lived in the land of Egypt, in Goshen, and they acquired property in it and were fruitful and became very numerous.

فَاسْتَقَرَّ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ فِي أرْضِ جاسانَ مِنْ بِلادِ مِصْرَ، وَاقتَنُوا مُمتَلَكاتٍ هُناكَ. وَأنجَبُوا أبْناءً كَثِيرِينَ، فَصارَ عَدَدُهُمْ كَبِيراً جِدّاً.
