T hen Jacob took fresh rods of poplar and almond and plane trees, and peeled white stripes in them, exposing the white which was in the rods.

فَأخَذَ يَعقُوبُ أغصاناً طَرِيَّةً مِنْ أشْجارِ الحَوْرِ وَاللَّوْزِ وَالدُّلْبِ. وَقَشَّرَها لِتَظْهَرَ عَلَيها خُطُوطٌ بَيضاءَ.
