N a ka maua atu e ia ko tana tokotoko i tona ringa; i whiriwhiria ano etahi kohatu maeneene e rima mana i roto i te awa, a whaowhina ana ki roto ki tana peke hepara, ara ki te putea; i tona ringa ano tana kotaha, na ko tona whakatatanga atu ki te Pirihitini.

Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine.
