K o te tangata e poka ke ana, kahore nei e mau ki te ako a te Karaiti, kahore te Atua i a ia: ko te tangata e mau ana ki te ako a te Karaiti, kei tenei te Matua me te Tama.

Anyone who runs on ahead and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God; but he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.
