E whakawhetai ana ahau ki te Atua, e mahi atu nei ahau ki a ia, he mea no oku tupuna iho i runga i te hinengaro ma, no te mea kahore e mutu toku mahara ki a koe i aku inoinga i te po, i te ao;

I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with a pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day,
