H eoi kihai a Hihona kingi o Hehepona i pai kia haere atu tatou na tona kainga: na Ihowa hoki, na tou Atua i whakapakeke tona wairua, i whakamaia hoki tona ngakau, kia homai ai ia ki tou ringa; koia ano tenei inaianei.

`And Sihon king of Heshbon hath not been willing to let us pass over by him, for Jehovah thy God hath hardened his spirit, and strengthened his heart, so as to give him into thy hand as at this day.
