H e aha tatou i kawea mai ai e Ihowa ki tenei whenua, kia hinga i te hoari: ka waiho a tatou wahine, a tatou tamariki hei taonga parau: ehara ianei te hoki ki Ihipa i te mea pai mo tatou?

And wherefore hath the Lord brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
