K atahi ratou ka mea ki a ia, Tena ra, whakaaturia ki a matou ko wai te take o tenei he ki a tatou? he mahi aha tau? i haere mai koe i hea? Ko hea tou whenua? no tehea iwi koe?

Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou?
