H aea hoki o koutou ngakau, haunga o koutou kakahu, a tahuri ki a Ihowa, ki to koutou Atua: he aroha hoki tona, he mahi tohu, he puhoi ki te riri, he nui tona atawhai, a e ripeneta ana ia ki te kino.

Rend your hearts and not your garments and return to the Lord, your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness; and He revokes His sentence of evil.
