K o te tangata i tawhiti ka mate i te mate uruta; ko te tangata e tata ana ka hinga i te hoari; ko te tangata e toe ana, e whakapaea ana, ka mate i te hemokai: na ka whakapaua e ahau toku riri ki a ratou.

The far-off by pestilence dieth, And the near by sword falleth, And the left and the besieged by famine dieth, And I have completed my fury upon them.
