I whakarongo ahau, i rongo ano, kihai i tika a ratou korero; kihai tetahi i ripeneta ki tona kino, kihai i mea, He aha taku i mea ai? anga ana te katoa ki tana oma, ki tana oma, pera ana me te hoiho e kokiri atu ana ki te tatauranga.

I have listened and heard, but they have not spoken aright; no man repents of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Everyone turns to his course, as the horse rushes like a torrent into battle.
