K oia i riro ai toku iwi i te parau, he kore matauranga; ko o ratou tangata ingoa nui hoki kua hemo i te kai, a ko to ratou mano tini kua pakapaka rawa i te matewai.

Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.
