I te mea he taonga nui koe ki taku titiro, he mea e whakahonoretia ana, a i arohaina koe e ahau; mo reira ka hoatu e ahau he tangata mo tou turanga, he iwi hoki hei utu mou kia ora.

Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
