K o taku ano i tango mai ai i nga pito o te whenua; he mea karanga nei hoki koe naku i roto i ona topito; ko taku kupu hoki ki a koe, Ko koe taku pononga; he mea whiriwhiri koe naku, kahore koe e maka atu e ahau.

Whom I have taken hold of, from the ends of the earth, And from its near places I have called thee, And I say to thee, My servant Thou, I have chosen thee, and not rejected thee.
