K ua poke ano te whenua i raro i ona tangata; kua takahia hoki nga ture, whakaputaia ketia ake e ratou te tikanga i whakatakotoria, whakataka ana e ratou te kawenata onamata.

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
