K oia ahau i mea ai, Kati te titiro ki ahau, ka nui toku tangi; kaua e tohe ki te whakamarie i ahau mo te pahuatanga o te tamahine a toku iwi.

Therefore I said, “Look away from me, I will weep bitterly; Do not labor to comfort me Because of the plundering of the daughter of my people.”
