N a, I a Etera e inoi ana, e whaki hara ana, me te tangi, me te rutu i a ia ki mua i te whare o te Atua, na, nui atu te hui i rupeke ki a ia i roto i a Iharaira, nga tane, nga wahine, nga tamariki: nui atu hoki te tangi i tangi ai te iwi.

Now while Ezra was praying, and while he was confessing, weeping, and bowing down before the house of God, a very large assembly of men, women, and children gathered to him from Israel; for the people wept very bitterly.
