N a ka haere mai nga tangata tokorua, nga tama a Periara, ka noho i tona aroaro: a ka whakaatu aua tangata a Periara i te he mona, ara mo Napoto i te aroaro o te iwi; i mea raua, I kanga e Napoto te Atua raua ko te kingi. Na kawea ana ia e ratou ki waho o te pa, a akina ana ki te kohatu, a mate noa ia.

The two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him. The base fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king!” Then they carried him out of the city and stoned him to death with stones.
