N a ka mea ana tangata ki a ia, Nana, kua rongo matou he kingi tohu tangata nga kingi o te whare o Iharaira: tena, kia maka iho e matou he kakahu taratara ki o matou hope, me etahi taura ki o matou matenga, a kia haere atu ki te kingi o Iharaira: tera pea koe e whakaorangia e ia.

¶ Then his slaves said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings; let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins and ropes upon our heads and go out to the king of Israel; peradventure he will give thee thy life.
