K atahi ka mea ana tangata ki a ia, He aha tenei mea i mea nei koe? I nohopuku koe, i tangi ki te tamaiti i a ia e ora ana: no te matenga ia o te tamaiti, na whakatika ana koe ki te kai taro.

Then his slaves said unto him, What is this that thou hast done? Thou didst fast and weep for the child while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.
