A ka mea ia, E kore taku tama e haere tahi i a koutou ki raro: kua mate hoki tona tuakana, a ko ia anake ka mahue nei; a ki te pono he aitua ki a ia i te ara e haere nei koutou, katahi ka meinga toku koroheketanga e koutou kia heke tangi atu ki te po.

And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.
