A ka mea ratou tetahi ki tetahi, He pono kua whai hara tatou i to tatou teina; i kite hoki tatou i te mamae o tona wairua, i a ia i inoi ai ki a tatou, a kihai tatou i whakarongo atu; na reira hoki i puta mai ai tenei he ki a tatou.

Then they said one to another, We are indeed guilty concerning our brother, whose anguish of soul we saw when he besought us, and we did not hearken; therefore this distress is come upon us.
