K atahi ka tikina e Hakopa etahi rakau mana, he papara mata, he aramona, he pereni; a tihorea ana e ia etahi tihorenga ma i aua mea, a ka meinga kia ata kitea te wahi ma o nga rakau.

And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.
